This is not going to be easy to write, so bear with me.
Many Atheists used to be in some religion or another. I'm not one of them. The entire concept of spirituality is incomprehensible to me, and always has been.
Are there things you see, or feel, or hear that cause your religion? Some mechanic? Some... thing at all, that you are in some way sensing, that confirms your faith? That creates that faith in the first place? I have no such sensation.
Is there something about the world we live in that you can sense, that requires or suggests a deity is acting? From my point of view, I've yet to see anything that would require such an entity.
But that's the easy part of how things are for me. After life, souls, deities, realms unavailable to us, things and forces that exist outside time and space as we understand them? Is that even correct?
I honestly don't know if that describes any aspect of any religion, because I am trying to ask questions about something that is simply non-existent to me. So... What is being religious like? And why do I not have it?
I have more questions, more things that don't make sense to me at any level of course. But after this point they start becoming abstract and irritating to talk about. If you've read all this way through my rambling, I thank you. Attempting to discuss an entire concept that I cannot experience is very difficult.
I cannot explain to you why I was born this way. Instead, all I can do is ask: Why are you religious?
